This past weekend we celebrated Dustin's birthday. Not just any birthday....his 30th birthday!!! We started his celebration by throwing him a mini surprise party on Friday night at life group. Natalie made him "older than dirt" cake and everybody brought him 30 of something. He got 30 footballs from me, 30 snickers from the Adjeis, 30 dimes from the Walls, and 30 nails from the Bartoos ("nailed it!"). We continued his celebration by going to eat with Gram and Pops on Saturday night. They took us all to Pei Wei! It was yummy. Taylor really enjoyed her rice and noodles! Then we happened to make our way to Toys R Us...bet you can't guess who THAT was for!
On Sunday, Taylor spent the night with Gram and Pops (yay!). Dustin and I went to Sundance Square and had a YUMMY dinner at Daddy Jack's. We then walked around and went to Bass Hall to see Bill Engvall live! (Dustin is a huge Blue Collar Comedy fan). It was awesome! I would definitely see him again if he comes back. After that was over, we walked around some more and stopped by Starbucks for a pumpkin spice latte (Dustin) and a salted caramel hot chocolate (me). Nothing makes me happier than a salted caramel hot chocolate. Seriously. Buy me one and you'll see.
We both took the next day off! We slept in, picked up Taylor, and had breakfast from McDonald's. We spent the rest of the day hanging out as a family. It was great! We had to wait until this weekend to get Dustin's actual birthday present, but we forged out into the huge storm to get....his brand new Oakleys! They are red and black....very awesome. Now he has some nice ones to wear at home and to church and his other ones for football practice. I'd say that's a pretty good 30th birthday!
