Annual Galveston Trip

Summer is in full force at the Scarbrough house!  We are keeping Taylor really busy and having a TON of fun!

We took our annual trip to Houston and Galveston.  First we stopped in Houston to see Stacy (my best friend from college) and her family.  She has an awesome husband and two sweet little girls (and is expecting her third in December...fingers crossed for a boy!).  Taylor LOVED playing with the girls.  It was hard to get a picture of all of them together, but I got close!

Taylor, Cadence, and Piper had a great time.  And I got some good new recipe ideas from Stacy!  It's hard to live so far from your BFF!

Then we drove on down to Galveston, our home away from home!  This year Gram and Pops came along and we had a great time!  We spent the first day at the Houston Space Center.  It was fun!  It was really hot, so the tram tour wasn't all that good, but the inside stuff was really interesting.  We left with some new shirts, books, and astro-bear!  Taylor is just like her mama...she LOVES stuffed animals.

They had this whole exhibit about fears.  Pops was trying out the fear of falling.  None of the rest of us would try it!
 The next female astronaut?
Astro-bear!

That night we ate some YUMMY food at The Spot (best fish tacos EVER).  The next day we spent the whole day at Moody Gardens.  If you plan to take your family to Moody Gardens, get the day pass!  Well worth it.  We saw the aquarium, the rainforest, rode the Colonel Paddlewheel, saw Wizard of Oz in 4D, rode a Happy Feet ride, and saw Sharks in 3D (well everyone except me and Taylor...she didn't like the movie much!).  It was a jam-packed but fun-filled day!  The only day of her life so far that Taylor did not take a nap...and we had a rough night afterwards!  Naps=good.

The last day was spent at the beach (of course!).  Taylor loved the beach...we couldn't keep her out of the sand!  We also ate our last meal at Gaido's, which is hands down the best seafood on the island.  I can't wait until we get to go back to Galveston and the beach next year.  Taylor will be older and will (hopefully) love it even more.
